Hotel guests can drive up to its entrance, even if the Hotel is situated in the limited traffic area (ZTL). And then go park to the private garage with discounted price.

It is recommended to arrive at the boulevard “Viale della Giovane Italia”, one of the main arteries of the “Viale” streets of Florence, whether if you come from the Northern Area, or from the South Area, because Viale della Giovane Italia is one of the few access roads to the historic center. We recommend you follow our advise and respect each step described below to get to the hotel by car. 

From Florence North / West (A1 / A11) to Hotel Rita Major

• Exit at Firenze Nord and follow the directions for Center / Station
• At the end of Viale Redi, take Viale Belfiore
• Keep left and when you reach the square of Porta al Prato, take the two left lanes to turn onto Viale Fratelli Rosselli
• At this point go straight on along Viale Filippo Strozzi
• Keep right and at the traffic lights take Viale Spartaco Lavagnini
• Once in piazza della Libertà, keep right to merge onto Viale Giacomo Matteotti
• When you arrive at Piazza Donatello (the English cemetery), proceed along Viale Antonio Gramsci
• Once in Piazza Beccaria, continue to merge onto Viale della Giovane Italia
• At the beginning of Viale della Giovane Italia keep to the right, at the traffic light turn right and enter Via Dell’Agnolo
• Here you enter the restricted traffic area and we recommend extremely cautious driving
• Drive for about 200 meters and turn right (just before the telematic gate of the ZTL) to arrive in via Santa Verdiana
• Go past the Piazza del Mercato di Sant’Ambrogio to take Via della Mattonaia
• Route approx. 200 meters the hotel is on your left
• You can park your car in front of the hotel for loading and unloading luggage

From Firenze Sud (A1) to the Hotel Rita Major

• Exit at Firenze Sud and follow the directions for Center / Station
• Go along the entire Via Marco Polo link road to merge onto Via Enrico de Nicola
• Continue along the Lungarno Aldo Moro and Lungarno Colombo
• When you reach the end of the lungarno del Tempio, turn right at the traffic lights to merge onto Viale Giovanni Amendola
• At this point keep left and after 500 meters approx. you come to a traffic light at which you need to turn left to take Viale Duca degli Abruzzi
• Take the right lane at the traffic island to merge onto Via Dell’Agnolo
• Here you enter the restricted traffic area and we recommend extremely cautious driving
• Drive about 200 meters and turn right (just before the electronic gate of the ZTL) to arrive in via Santa Verdiana
• Go past the Piazza del Mercato di Sant’Ambrogio to take Via della Mattonaia
• Route approx. 200 meters the hotel is on your left
• You can park your car in front of the hotel for loading and unloading luggage

From the FI-PI-LI expressway to the Hotel Rita Major

• Exit at Lastra a Signa, follow the signs for the A1, take it and take it to Rome, then exit at Firenze-Sud. Follow the directions “Coming from A1”.

 From the Siena-Florence highway to the Hotel Rita Major

• Arrive at the end of the freeway and at the roundabout of the Impruneta motorway exit, take the A1 towards Rome, exit at Firenze-Sud. Follow the directions “Coming from A1”.

Yes, it is possible. It is called “Drive and tramway”.The service exists and works with the “Villa Costanza Parking Area”. If you come from Highway A1, you should come off the highway at the exit “PARCHEGGIO DI VILLA COSTANZA” (exit has the same name of the parking area). 

The “Villa Costanza” parking is directly connected with the terminus stop of the T1 LEONARDO Tramway Line that will take you at the railways Santa Maria Novella station in just 22 minutes, and you are in the hearth of Florence. Trams are leaving each 6/9 minutes depending on the time slot.

Parking Fee is really convenient: 7 Euro per 24h, but if stay more days better the weekly subscription: 20 Euro for one week.

The tram will leave you at the central station Santa Maria Novella “Via Valfonda”. Service hours: from 5.00 to 00.30

From Amerigo Vespucci Airport to the Hotel Rita Major

Guests arriving by plane can take the tramway connected with the center of city in 15 minutes more or less, and once you take the tram you get off at “Unità” stop. The tram ticket can be purchased at the tram stop and must be stamp at the special tram machine; it is valid for the bus too (the limitation is the time limit: only 90 minutes from the stamp time).

Or you can take a taxi (20 minutes driving without traffic at the aproximate cost of 25/30 Euro during the day.

Guests arriving by plane to the international Pisa airport “Galileo Galilei” we suggest to take the train, (in Pisa airport you can find the connection to the Pisa railways station) train direct to Firenze Santa Maria Novella Railways Station. Follow the directions “Coming from the Santa Maria Novella railway station”.

From the railways station (Santa Maria Novella) to the Hotel Rita Major.

Guests arriving by train (we suggest to take “high speed trains” called FS Freccia Rossa/FS Freccia Argento or Italo) can take the bus to reach the Hotel. When guests exit from the railways Station walk towards bus stop near Piazza Adua and take the bus numer 6 (any 6 = 6A,6B,6C) direction “Novelli” (It is written on the display in the top/front of the bus). The estimeted bus travel time is around 10 minutes to reach the bus stop called “Niccolini” in Via Giovan Battista Niccolini. Walking 150 metres you reach the Hotel.

You can buy the bus ticket even at the newsstand inside the railways station. Bus ticket costs Euro 1,70 and it is valid for 70 minutes after obliteration on the bus. Bus service works from 6.00 a.m. to 00.30 a.m. More information on the website: www.at-bus.it

Or you can take a taxi from the railways station to the Hotel. It approximately costs 15-20 Euro and takes 10 minutes to arrive to the Hotel.
